Mini Academy for winners from Uzbekistan!

Winners of the 2005 Childnet Academy from the “Me against Terrorism” project from Uzbekistan travelled to the UK last week for an exciting mini-academy week!

The winners, Khurshid and Farhod Sharipov were unable to fly to Jamaica for the Academy week in April due to visa problems which was a huge disappointment. A ‘Mini-Academy’ week was therefore planned so that the Uzbek’s could meet other winners and also gain from some of the sessions which they were unable to take part in, in Jamaica.

They flew into London on Tuesday 24th May and travelled straight to Belfast the following day to meet with the winners of the “It’s all in the mix” project in Lagan College. A full programme, included visits to Giants Causeway, a tour around the city and also presentations to the school. The group, which included young people from Childnet’s Networker’s group, and other winners from the UK and Vietnam, then travelled to London where Childnet organised an digital i-movie making session and an activity on building web pages within a content management system.
